A New Beginning: 4 months into Parenthood

Here's a simple drawing of my baby girl (as I've imagined) just weeks before I was due. She has a lot more hair than my drawing and nope she hasn't learnt to crawl yet but yes i'm definitely looking forward to this new upcoming milestone! Time flies and it's been 4 months plus since we became parents! It was a roller-coaster ride with many ups and downs... along the way, we make mistakes and we learn! And since I've always loved children... having this baby of mine has made my life even more wonderful!

With the arrival of the little one, it meant that my husband and I would have lesser time to do our own things. Lesser time to catch up with friends, no more movie dates, lesser shopping (well i still get to shop for her stuff!), lesser sleep and all...etc. But deep in my heart, I know this little angel of mine will grow up real fast...hence I'm definitely going to enjoy all the precious time I have with her.

I wouldn't say it's an easy journey...but things are getting easier along the way. It's pretty amazing when I see how much this little new bundle of joy resembles me! And to think how much she has grown from a tiny little cell...that's one amazing creation. A gift from heaven.

Change is the only constant

This year has been a year full of changes. Good changes I'd say. So first thing... The project that I've been working on has come to an end and that would mean a change in job/company. It's really hard saying goodbye to friends and awesome colleagues I've known all these years (7 years in the industry), but moving on would mean better and new challenges ahead!

Also, we will be expecting a new family member in our lives come next February! More posts in abit. And in the meantime, it's probably a good time to churn out more works (which definitely includes a polishing of my animation demoreel) and keep my sketches/works column updated again!

Cheers,
SJ

Our first staycation

It's been 5 months plus since we got married. And it's been really awesome ever since we got used to each other's lifestyle and new schedules in life. But I must admit, life in Singapore as a working adult can get quite stressful at times. And since I haven't got many leaves left for holidays, I was lucky enough to win a 1 night stay (from a Vitagen Facebook Contest) in the Amara Sanctuary's Larkhill Terrace this year! A good treat for my husband and I to relax and chill out on a perfect Saturday!

So here's a pic of our beautiful one night stay room. Well I had to grab this one photo from the website cos the ones I took wouldn't do justice to the beautiful place. But the rest below are taken with my iPhone5. So yeahhh...I'm totally in love with the concept of having a pool right at the back of our room, a bathtub in the open space (well, close the door when you're intending to take a bath in it, of course) and a day bed for one to lie down and relax! Plus it was drizzling on Sunday morning, hence it felt really nice to just lie there for breakfast while we enjoy the cool breeze and nice blue pool!

The rest of the photos that were taken on my iPhone5

A shot of the bathroom with rain shower. Pretty similar to our home.

Shot from the outside, across the pool.

A couple of shots of the pool before we check out on Sunday Morning.

Overall, it's been a really good experience and I'd give Larkhill Terrace a 4.5/5 stars! Nice place to relax in and it's perfect for a lil' getaway!

#100happydays

Have you noticed that everyone on Instagram is starting to have hashtags like #100happydays on every single post? Check out this new campaign on www.100happydays.com! It's a pretty cool idea and I like it that they actually trigger you to think of a happy moment everyday. By doing so, you'd slowly start to appreciate all the little things in life a little more.

Hence I've decided to count my lil blessings starting from today. Beginning with a surprise bouquet of my favourite red roses paired with lovely baby's breath! All thanks to my wonderful husband! Happy V day and happy 2months of marriage life!

A new phase in life

14th Dec 2013- The day we said our vows and exchanged our rings. Yay! We are finally husband and wife! It wasn't easy planning for the wedding but I'm glad everything went really smoothly and both of us truly enjoyed the day as everything went sorta as we planned. A little hiccups here and there thankfully they were all solved pretty quickly. Adapting well to our married life and I'm looking forward to seeing the official photos and final videos from our vendors!

So meanwhile, here's a shot from our church wedding!
PS: Walking down the church aisle towards the love of my life is truly a dream come true.
I'm so in love with this beautiful Church of St Francis Xavier!

Our #Blessed14Dec Wedding Part01- The Planning

Having been together for 8 yrs plus and counting, our wedding has ought to be one of the most memorable day of our lives! Planning a wedding is fun but it definitely isn't an easy job! It involves a lot of research, knowing what is it that you want, and couples should always agree on a comfortable budget together! Oh and first thing you'd need to do after saying "YES" to his proposal, is to discuss about the ideal wedding date! Ours was picked by my parents-in-law. And since the chosen date was coincidentally on my mummy's birthday, and during one of my favourite month of the year, my then fiance (now husband) and I readily agreed to it!

So here's our top list of priorities.

- Wedding Date
- Wedding Venue (Church Wedding for Solemnization and Hotel for Banquet) *
- Actual day Photographer (PG) *
- Actual day Videographer (VG) *
- Wedding Style (Modern/Rustic/Fairytale/Romantic?)
- Budget
- Bridal Boutique

Always remember to try on a few gowns first to see if you can find one you like. Pre-wedding         Photographer and Makeup Artist will be included in this package as well.
Try to bargain for more freebies/poses/photos!)
- Florist (For Church Wedding)
- Marriage Preparation Course (For Catholic Church Wedding)
- Wedding Invites (For Church Wedding. Banquet's invites are usually included in the hotel package)
- Plan your Itinerary for the big day
- Plan your schedule/checklist as you slowly have the things done closer to your big day!

So yup! And not to forget, when the big day is closer, you'd find yourself busy with all the other chinese customary stuff. But yeah, on the overall, it's still really fun. Will be updating Part02 with our Actual Day details and Photos as soon as I'm free!

Cheers,
